When I was a child loved Christmas. My Mother cooked and slept on the couch so she could be here the kitchen and get up every three or four hours to base the turkey, all the family would come over to our house for Christmas dinner. It was such a wonderful time of the year for me I would be so happy. Now my mother is 89 years old and most of the family is not here anymore, however my mother still cooks and the memories is still there.

Christmas with your family sounds divine. I can imagine all of the great food that your mother's hands prepared and see the holiday decorations through your eyes. The fact that your mother still cooks after many years is a wonderful thing. Your memories bring back great ones for me.

ReplyDeleteYour mother reminds me of my grand mother, she too use to cook Christmas dinner and also slept near the kitchen so she could smell the food when it was ready. Now that my grand mother is a little older, we cook for her. Everyone in the family gets assigned to a dish that we have to cook and bring to her house every Christmas after noon. Although grandma no longer cooks Christmas we still try to keep the tradition alive. Christmas is very special to my family as well.
